Arkan – Hutsul men folk dance (according to tradition, dance of heroes that descended from the mountains). Time signature 2/4. Identical with Irish music “Ev Sistr” and Breton “Ev Chistr Ta, Laou!”.
The basic step is repeated throughout the dance, alternating with a variety of shapes. In fact, the dance is still the element of initiations for Hutsuls when entering “male union”, conventionally referred to as “Arkan”. “Arkan” rite of passage twelve years old Hutsul guy in warriors (“lehini” ie legionaries). After participating in it, he received the right to perform dances and to wear bartka (small hatchet on a long handle) and girded himself with a wide belt. Meaning became a potential “Opryshko” (“those who are besides” a member of a secret union).
The name of the dance is from Latin, from the Etruscan word “arcanus” – “secret, hidden, silent” and comes from the Indo-European word root “arta”. The dance “Arkan” must necessarily be in silence.
Well-known Ukrainian archaeologist Shilov J. found that this is the root word which is in the title of an existing state of Trypillians-Pelasgus Aratta, the transmission of which is preserved by Iranians, assuming Art as a perfect origination and “the highest outlook”, and in general – the golden age of mankind, thus Slavs, who called their country Artania or Oratania (center – the city Orativ on Podillya), along with Kujawy (Kyiv region) and Slavia (Pereyaslav).
Byzantines and Arabs showed that in the mysterious Oratania Slavs were killing strangers, so they did not learn about the technology to produce special magic of “Solomon” swords. This is identical to that the ancient Greeks told about violent Tauri (from the Sanskrit tivra “strict”) of Northern Black Sea.
As you can see, our ancestors kept their secrets very carefully. Only members of genetic sacred order could know them, which was called in the Carpathians “arkan” (noose) in the desert – “hopak” (from the Sanskrit “hopa” – “shepherd”). Accordingly, along with men’s orders there were women. In different regions, they had their names like “olyanytsya”, “basorkanya”, “yaha”, “mava”, “podolyany” and so on.
