“Shchedryck” is one of compositions of Mykola Leontovych. This Ukrainian composer has been worked over it almost all life. This song is about wishes for the winter holidays. Today “Shchedryck” is well known not just in Ukraine but all over the world. In 1921 this composition was performed abroad for the first time. It happened in New York, in the well-known Carnegie Hall. Later the Ukrainian carol sounded also in such films as Harry Potter, South park and others.
To make this animation the authors have spent 150 kg of plasticine, 100 kg of salt and 5 months of hard working.
For the first time this original animated clip was presented in Kiev, the 1st December. It happened within the famous festival “Krayina Mriy” (“Land of Dreams”). This event takes place on the initiative of a famous Ukrainian singer Oleg Skrypka every year. It’s meant for uniting all winter holidays in the Ukrainian traditions and show the sense and the way of celebrating Christmas in Ukraine.
