Day 1
After breakfast you’ll visit a jewel of Mukachevo – medieval castle Palanok (XIV-XVII century). You’ll feel the power of ancient stronghold, find out the legends about town foundation, see an different historical, ethnography and art exhibitions, enjoy the views from fortress’ bulwarks and make a wish near the monument of prince Koriatovych.

The stronghold was a residence of mighty Koriatovych family for almost 200 years During the reign of prince Felix Koriatovych the fortress became one of the most impregnable in the whole country. The prince and his family lived in the highest part of the castle, there were really very rich interiors there. The stronghold has a good armory: 164 cannons of different sizes and 60 barrels of gun-powder. The castle was surrounded by deep ditch. The inner bank of the ditch was surrounded by the high wooden fence (or wall )(in Ukrainian this sort of fence is called “palanok”, that’s why this castle is known as Palanok castle. The area of this fortress is 14000 sq. m. the castle consists of 130 different premises with a complicated system of underground passages between them. The castle was the centre of the rebel lead by Ferenc Rakoshy. Since 1789 the castle was used as a prison. In 1926 the stronghold became a barracks, later there was an agricultural college in it. Now it’s a museum.

Transfer to Chynadievo “Karpaty” sanatorium (resort).
Visiting one of the most beautiful park sight in Carpathians – current territory of health resort (sanatorium) “Karpaty” and former hunting palace of Sherbourn family – fabulous sight of romantic-style architecture (XIX century). Here you’ll enjoy the healing Carpathian air, relaxing atmosphere of blooming park, and become more young and beautiful with sip of water from “Spring of beauty”.

Transfer to Mukachevo, dinner.

After dinner you’ll have an exciting 1-hour sightseeing tour around the historical centre of Mukachevo. You’ll see town hall, White palace, the oldest church in Mukachevo – St.Joseph’s chapel, St. Martin’s Cathedral and other beautiful churches and monuments.

Hotel check in, rest.

Day 2
Breakfast, hotel check-out, Transfer to Uzhgorod.

Sightseeing tour around the center of Thranscarpathian region with thousand years history. You‘ ll walk down the old pedestrian bridge and main walking street of town – Korzo with a lots of architectural sights, visit beautiful Cross cathedral and Uzhgorod castle – fortress of XIV century raised by italian tycoons Drugetti.

Than you’ll feel yourself in Carpathian village, visiting ethnography museum, which presents traditional housing of local ethnic groups – hutculs, lemky and boyky. Here you can see unique wooden church of XVII century.

Continuing meets Uzhgorod – old narrow streets with pavement, Vasilian’s monastery, great pseudo-Moorish style synagogue and the longest in Europe lime-alley. In the end of April-May you’ll get a great bonus – sakura trees blooming, it’s really unforgettable!

Dinner with traditional Transcarpathian meals, free time.
