Summer tour in the Carpathians

During this journey you will discover for yourself the authentic culture of Hutsulshchyna, everyday life and traditions of the local people (Hutsuls), try your hand at handicrafts (master-classes on ceramics, producing of lizhnyk and playing on drymba – Hutsul string folk musical instrument). You will have the opportunity to experience an unforgettable adventure of extracting and decoction the salt, taking a walk across one of the largest reserves of yew in Europe, as well as walks to the Carpathian waterfalls!

At the same time you are invited to visit the museums. It will help you to plunge into the past for a while and get fresh experiences. You will visit a ski resort “Bukovel” and travel through the picturesque passes of the Carpathian Mountains.

The tour is imbued with the spirit of antiquity.

Itinerary

Day 1

Meeting in Ivano-Frankivsk.

An excursion to Kolomyya. Visiting the unique Museum of Pysanka (painted Easter egg) and the Kobrynsky Museum of folk art of Hutsulshchyna and Pokuttia. The exhibition of both museums gives an opportunity to know the traditions of culture of the Hutsul region;

Transfer to Knyazhdvir. A walking tour to the old saltworks. You can try your hand at extraction and decoction of salt on the fire;

Trip to one of Europe’s largest reserves of yew – the Knyazhdvir Nature Reserve.

Day 2

Visiting skilled craftsmen in Kosiv and Yavoriv. Master-classes on ceramics in Kosiv and producing of lizhnyk (woolen blankets making) in Yavoriv;

Trip to Kryvorivnya. An excursion to the Museum named after Ivan Franko and the museum of Hutsul architecture Grazhda;

Verkhovyna – sightseeing excursion to the Hutsul capital. Visit the Hutsul Musical Instruments Museum;

A guided tour Verkhovyna – VorokhtaTatariv through the Kryvopilsky Pass (961 m);

Overnight in Tatariv. In program: traditional Hutsul dinner with local food and drinks, learning to play music instruments. You will be able to take pictures in national costumes.

Day 3

An excursion to the Bukovel ski resort;

Trip to the Guk Zhenetsky waterfall in Tatariv (15 m);

Sightseeing tour in Yaremche. Visiting the Probiy waterfall and souvenir market;

Returning to Ivano-Frankivsk.
